Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

Thou sufferest that woman Jezebel...

Revelation 2:20 KJV — Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

1 Timothy 2:12 KJV — But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

These verses come to mind:
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

Ronald Dean Stewart
This is so far from the truth! Jesus went to Abraham's bosom not hell's fires, He did not need to be born-again He is God in the flesh.

Linda Lancaster
Heresy to say the least. Sad, sad, sad.

This was Kenneth Hagan's doctrine as well. they try to bring the Lord down to their standards but God is still God. I wonder sometimes why He lets them live and prosper! If I were God I would probably strike them dead! God is so merciful!

Ann Atwood Fraley
Years ago, when I commented on the effrontery of that woman to call herself a pastor, my husband argued with me about it. Now, he doesn't even remember disagreeing. I'm happy he was that noncommittal in his heart. Many scriptures are open to interpretation but I don't know how in the world anyone justifies this.
