Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

Monergism and Synergism

The picture above shows two distinct and separate chains... the one on top represents eternal salvation, and the other represents temporal salvation.

Keep them apart, you have pure monergism - eternal salvation by divine free grace alone.

Mix them together, and you get pure synergism... divine grace PLUS human works.

Romans 8:29 ¶ "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."

Question: why is there no mention of regeneration, sanctification, adoption, gospel preaching, hearing, faith and repentance, etc, etc... some of the MANY links that the Calvinists and Arminians alike insist must be added onto the five-link chain, and that such are necessary for eternal salvation?

Tell us if you can stick to the subject. Thanks
---------

Bill Taylor
I believe that regeneration, sanctification, and adoption are effected by His call (hence it is often stated as an effectual calling.) Gospel preaching, hearing, faith, and repentance are timely benefits of God's eternal work. They are not part of the chain but are "pulled" by the chain with its five links of God's foreknowledge, predestination, calling, justification, and glorification.

Robert E Griffin
Foolish error to believe one verse or one passage about our eternal salvation is "comprehensive" or covers every point.

Some passages just say "faith". Or just say "repent". Does that mean that this one thing totally summarizes salvation? Of course not.

We put ALL the Word's teaching together and come up with the truth. To suck just one word/verse/passage and make a whole doctrinal position from it is foolish.

End up like Catholics and false views on Mary or Cruisematics and false views on the Spirit. Can't do it. Have to put the revealed Word together to get the truth!

Sing F Lau
Effectual call:
"Those whom God hath predestined unto life, He is pleased in His appointed and accepted time, effectually to call,(1) by His Word and Spirit, out of that state of sin and death in which they are by nature, to grace and salvation by Jesus Christ..." 1689.10.1
Calling an elect out of his native state of sin and death to that of grace and salvation requires these sovereign activities of the TRIUNE God: justification, regeneration, adoption, and bestowing the gift of the Holy Spirit to dwell in the elect effectually called. Calling an elect out of his native state of sin and death to that of grace and salvation NECESSARILY requires ALL those divine activities...

Once effectually call to grace and salvation in Jesus Christ, he is PERFECTLY fitted for eternal glory.... absolutely NOTHING more is needed... THAT IS, for eternal salvation.
It was purposed by God, accomplished by Christ, and applied by the Holy Spirit... it is finished... it is complete... He also glorified!

Bill Taylor
This verse is perfectly in the context of the fulness of Romans 8, and does indeed perfectly describe the surety of our eternal salvation.

Sing F Lau
Wise Robert E Griffin, try squeezing one or two links of your choice into the 5-link chain of Romans 8:29-30 all you can. Go, give it a real gooooood try.
If you can't, don't speak the way you do.

Robert E Griffin
Get a grip Sing. You seem to have missed the simple fact that NOT ALL of God's teaching on salvation fit into one-two verses.
Read the WHOLE NT to understand salvation, not a verse from Romans.

Johnny Davis
I agree with you, Sing, but I will answer your question. THEY say, that you have to take the bible as a whole, not one scripture alone, and the combination of scriptures, reveal the REQUIREMENT of salvation. And, THEY claim that every word in scripture, applies to them, in exactly the same way, as to the people it was written, even if in a different time and place, with no thought to context. And THEY say, that THEY have the only truth, THEY are going to heaven, THEY are the only Christians, and all others are going to hell.

Personally, I cannot figure how any reasonable, truth seeking person, can view scripture that way. Some say THEY are ungodly. I say, THEY sin, just as me, and as believers, THEY are saved, just like me. THEY are forgiven. THEY are Christians, as well. Let me know, if I agree with you, because my words in English, are not understood. Nothing I say, is in disagreement.

Sing F Lau
Wise Robert E Griffin, tell us what is still lacking in God's free and sovereign activities for the ETERNAL SALVATION of those predestinated, Rom 8:29-30. If there is anything lacking, it would be VERY EASY for you to point out. So, do us a favor... state what is lacking.

I fear you have not come to grip with the distinction between ETERNAL SALVATION by God's free grace alone (as in Rom 8:29-30) and TEMPORAL SALVATION which requires many cooperative/responsive activities of God's children.

Go, find that handle, and see if you can grip it!

Sing F Lau
The old-school Baptists summarized the truth in this manner:
"1. Those whom God hath predestined unto life, He is pleased in His appointed and accepted time, effectually to call,(1) by His Word and Spirit, out of that state of sin and death in which they are by nature, to grace and salvation by Jesus Christ..." (1689.10)
1. Those whom God effectually calleth, He also freely justifieth,(1) (1689.11)
1. All those that are justified, God vouchsafed, in and for the sake of His only Son Jesus Christ, to make partakers of the grace of adoption (1689.12)
1. They who are united to Christ, effectually called, and regenerated... (1689.13)

The above is the first statement from 1689.11-14... stating the truth that effectual call out of the native state of sin and death to grace and salvation involves justification, regeneration and adoption - SIMULTANEOUSLY, but in that logical order.

The effectual call ONCE for all sanctified or separated the elect from the state of sin and death to that of grace and eternal life. Theologians term this as the 'definitive sanctification' in distinction from the ongoing practical sanctification throughout life on earth.

Romans 5:18 tells us that justification is the justification of life in contrast to the condemnation of death. Here it is...
"Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation [of death]; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto JUSTIFICATION OF LIFE."

Justification necessarily involves regeneration unto life because justification is the application of Christ's righteousness to an elect, thus giving divine warrant for the Holy Spirit to impart eternal life, based on the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Regeneration of eternal life necessarily involves the adoption of the regenerated into God's family.

Sing F Lau
All these divine activities - foreknowing, predestinating, effectual calling, justifying and glorifying - ENCOMPASS all that are necessary for the eternal salvation of God's elect.

The extent to which this is understood indicates the extent to which salvation by free grace alone is truly understood.
All those who crave to add a few more links to the 5-link chain betray their ignorance and rejection of the doctrine of salvation by God's grace alone!

"Usward" - Sound versus Sense

Initially posted here:
Universal love, particular atonement, equal chance, assumptions, etc.

Read and judge for yourself!!! Where are you in these matters?

Sing
God the Creator loves His creatures in the covenant of creation.
God the Redeemer loves His chosen people in the covenant of redemption.
That's plain and simple enough.

Berf
Perhaps, some of you will say that I am "reading too much into it," but I think 2 Peter 3:9 implies the idea that God loves everyone equally.

[plainly a silly notion: did God love those who have gone to hell equally as those who have gone to heaven? - sing]

Cook
"us-ward" who is the letter written to?

Sing
Usward...
1:1 ¶ Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Cook
"like precious faith" how beautiful and powerful.

Sing
To Usward...
- that have obtained like precious faith with us...
- that have been given all things that pertain unto life and godliness...
- that are given exceeding great and precious promises...
- that are partakers of divine nature...
- that have escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Nathan
So you're saying that only those that have faith in Christ are loved by God. What about the thousands and thousands of people who lived without ever hearing the name Jesus Christ? I believe that a just God gives each of His children an equal chance of receiving salvation, whether it's during this life or in the spirit world.

Sing
God DOES NOT give chance... much less equal chance of receiving salvation. If He gives chance, then no one will be saved. Chance is redundant to sinner dead in trespasses and sins.

God purposed salvation for His people.
Christ accomplished that same salvation for the same people.
The Spirit of God and Christ applies that salvation to each individual personally while they were dead in trespasses and sins.

These then are able to believe because the faith is worked in them by the indwelling Spirit.

Salvation is freely and sovereignly applied to each of God's chosen people. This salvation bestowed freely by God's grace NEGATES the need and place of chance in the matter of salvation.

Berf
On what do you base your assumption, Sing??.......

Sing
Berf, which one do you consider is an assumption, and why? Thanks.

Berf
Everything we think or say about God is an assumption........

Sing
There is only ONE thing I assume when I speak of God and things concerning Him - that is - He HAS SPOKEN, and Has PRESERVED what He has spoken, and what He has spoken can be known and understood by those whom He has spoken to. Without that assumption, we are indeed speaking like presumptuous fools.

2Tim 3
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Berf
And assumptions are based upon personal beliefs and preconceptions.....

Sing
I will leave you to speak your assumptions.
I will stick to what God has said, and preserved in the Scriptures... and based my "assumptions" on that sure foundation.
I have no hope of knowing God and His will apart from the Scriptures.
Thanks for sharing your assumptions. Thanks again.

God the mudder!

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you???

At Tesco Extra in Sungai Dua, three "missionaries" led by a Korean woman, came up to Alice and wanted to deliver their "God the Mother" to her. Alice said, "if you want to talk about God the Father I will entertain you a bit, but if you want to talk about God the Mother, please talk to that father there," pointing to me. I knew what was coming, so I invited them to sit down. The man reluctantly sat down, but the two women wouldn't. I requested the young man to please show me where in his bible talks about his Mother God?"

He opened his bilingual Bible (the damned NIV, and Chinese), and confidently thumbed at Galatians 4:28 - "But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother." (NIV) - exclaiming, "there you are, it says, God is our Mother."

I was flabbergasted but didn't show it, even though I have very low tolerance from arrogant stupidity! He kept insisting that the passage speaks of God the Mother. I asked, "but what is the mother spoken of here, to what does the pronoun "she" refer?" He kept repeating, "to God, and she is our Mother" in an aggressive manner. Poor fellow, he is probably just ignorantly and naively regurgitating what he has been indoctrinated with!

He asked aggressively, "do you believe the Bible?" I said, "do you know that the Bible must be rightly understood and that you have perverted and twisted the simple teaching of that passage?" I wanted to explain to him the message of the epistle of Paul to the Galatians but he insisted that I don't even believe in the Bible.

When I suggested that what he is pushing is a heresy, he got very angry and started accusing me of not believing the Bible, blah, blah, blah.

I got a bit annoyed and said, "do you even understand simple English?" Can you please read the few verses before that verse and tell me what Apostle Paul is saying." He didn't want to, but stuck to his jammed machine gun!

I told them to leave as I have no pleasure conversing further with them. They left reluctantly after nearly causing a scene!

["But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is our mother." (kjv)]

The NIV "she" - that's all it takes to get the minds of ignorant folks off to a tangent, and to come up with their idea of their Mother God!!!

This is perhaps a symptom of the feminized Christianity.

Beware, the Mother of Harlots who aggressively promoted the NIV is roaring and seeking whom she may deceive!

"I have the keys of hell and of death."

Re 1:18 "I... have the keys of hell and of death."

Re 1:18 "I... have the keys of hell and of death."

Rev 20:
11 ¶ And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
==============

The activities are all described in the prophetic past tense to indicate their absolute certainty of being fulfilled; they are as good as has happened, an accomplished fact. God's sovereignty and immutability guarantee these. Their actual fulfillment is yet in the future... at Christ's return to judge the world.

A few observations from this 5-verse paragraph:

i. The momentous events described here shall occur at the end of time, i.e.at the threshold of eternity when the begotten Son of the eternal God shall sit upon His great white throne. [Therefore forget about the fabled earthly millennium!]

ii. Death and hell shall deliver up the dead in them at the end of time.
- The glorified Christ holds the keys to both death and hell. He opens them, and they deliver up their captives unto Him for judgment!
- Death and hell shall be emptied of their dead. None shall remain in death or hell anymore after that. Therefore, hell shall be emptied, and be discarded.
- Hell's temporal/timely function shall cease at the end of time. At the end of time, hell shall have served its purpose.
- The EMPTIED death and hell shall be tossed into the lake of fire.

iii. Those delivered up by death and hell shall be judged every man according to their works.
- Please note that this is not the stated reason why any would end up in the lake of fire.

iv. All those dead delivered up by death and hell whose names are not written in the book of life shall be cast into the lake of fire for their eternal punishment.
- Those dead delivered up by death and hell whose names are found written in the book of life shall not be cast into the lake of fire.

v. Verse 15 "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire" obviously implies, in context, that of all those dead delivered up by death and hell, there are those whose names are written in the book of life, and others not written in the book of life.
- THAT IS, God's children do end up in hell BUT none of them will end up in the lake of fire. This makes complete sense in light of Christ's solemn and constant warnings addressed to the disciples, on avoiding hell.

Sing F Lau
"Re 1:18 "I... have the keys of hell and of death."
What is the relevance of this declaration for God's children?

Sing F Lau
Rev 20:15 "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
- The book of life records the name of all those whom God has chosen and predestinated to eternal glory.
- Whosoever is not found written in the book of life was not given to Christ to be redeemed from the eternal condemnation in the lake of fire at the end of time.
- The lake of fire is not the same as hell. Hell ends at the end of time.
- Hell is temporal. Hell shall deliver up the dead at the end of time to stand for judgment.
- The lake of fire is eternal... the non redeemed shall be here forever!
Nearly all are absolutely certain that there are no children of God in hell.
I'm not sure about that. Christ did solemnly warn the disciples of the real danger of ending up there.

I readily affirm the absolute certainty that not a single child of God will be in the lake of fire... Rev 20:15.

Sing F Lau
The Lord Jesus did WARN his disciples against the danger of ending up in hell... whatever 'hell' maybe made to mean.
Is the danger of hell real or imaginary?
Here is the first instant hell is used...

Mt 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Here is the first usage of "hell" in the NT.
1. To whom is the Lord addressing the warning?
- to the elect?
- to the non-elect?
- what's your choice? Suggest the third group, perhaps.

2. What is that "hellfire" spoken of?
- Something in this life?
- Something after death?
- Something after the resurrection?

3. Is the danger of hell fire real to those addressed?
4. Can hell fire be avoided by those addressed?
5. Was Jesus just jesting, using "hell" to frighten those addressed?

[ A brother commented on the above passage:
I have read before that geena or Gehenna was a place outside of Jerusalem in the Valley of the Son Hinnom (Jer. 7:31-32) where pagans sacrificed their children by fire. It was looked at as a place of wickedness and shame.
It is my belief, as with the other references in the verse (i.e. the judgment, the council) that hell fire, in this case, is a temporal punishment of a sorrowful death, not an eternal separation.

Of course, that is only in that particular verse in Matthew. There are many examples in the Bible where Hell is mentioned as an everlasting punishment, but I believe that particular verse in Matthew 5 to be speaking of a well-known place within the Valley of the Son of Hin]

Sing F Lau
Here is another one:
"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matt 10:28
To whom does the Lord Jesus addressed these words?
- to the dead in trespasses and sins?
- to the disciples?
If the former, such have no fear of God! Isn't the warning redundant?
If the latter, then being destroyed both soul and body in hell is a real possibility... otherwise Christ warning just jesting!
But what is it to be destroyed both body and soul in hell?

Sing F Lau
"For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell." (Psalms 86:13)
A brother commented on this verse:
[David, in this verse, praises God for his deliverance from "...the lowest hell." I can't imagine a lower hell than the place from which the wicked dead are raised in Revelation 20, so the Biblical evidence seems clear that God 1) Delivered us "...from the wrath to come," including the wrath that shall hold the wicked from their death till the Second Coming. David used a past tense verb, referring to a deliverance already received, not to be received in the future.]

I wish to ask these questions:
1. What's the lowest hell that David's soul went to, and from which the Lord delivered it?
- Would it be the same hell spoken of in Rev 20. Can a man's soul go to the lowest hell in his lifetime on earth?
2. When was David's soul in the lowest hell - during his lifetime on earth?
3. David's confession does prove one thing: the soul of a child of God can end up in the lowest hell (whatever that is made to mean).
- And unless the Lord intervenes to deliver that soul, it will remain there until the day it is delivered up at resurrection, for glorification.
4. Does David's confession apply to every child of God... would Saul be able to say the same thing? Can we conclude that what is true of David in this confession is automatically true of all others?

Modern ivanHELLicals and Ancient Evangelicals

Modern versus Ancient; New versus Old

Modern IvanHELLicals
vs
Ancient Evangelicals

"Modern Evangelicals preach the same Gospel that was proclaimed in the First Century. We preach that Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died an atoning death, and rose bodily from the grave. We preach that man is a sinner and stands guilty before God in need of salvation. We preach that God offers salvation by grace, through faith, in Jesus Christ alone, and the moment anyone repents of his sin, puts his faith in Jesus, and calls upon His name, that person is born again. That’s the Gospel they preached, and the Gospel we preach." - Steve Gaines, a mega SBC church pastor, in his Kindle book "Pray Like It Matters."

Sing F Lau
Mr. Steve Gaines affirms that Modern IvanHELLicals preach these:
1. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died an atoning death, and rose bodily from the grave.
2. Man is a sinner and stands guilty before God in need of salvation.
3. God offers salvation by grace, through faith, in Jesus Christ alone
4. The moment anyone repents of his sin, puts his faith in Jesus, and calls upon His name, that person is born again.
That’s the gospel that Mr. Gaines and Modern IvanHELLicals preach.

Sing F Lau
Mr. Steve Gaines claims that he preaches the SAME gospel preached by the apostolic evangelists of the first century.
Does anyone agree with that?
Thanks.

4. "The moment anyone repents of his sin, puts his faith in Jesus, and calls upon His name, that person is born again.
=======
Is there one smallest shred of gospel/good news in this?
What good news is this smooth sounding promise to one who is not born again yet, i.e who is still dead in trespasses and sins?

This statement is actually a very cruel, wicked, and grievous mockery to anyone who is not born again, i.e anyone still dead in trespasses and sins. Such smooth words bring no good news, it leaves the dead in their deadness.
It is like making the promise of the dead, "The moment anyone smells his deadness, puts his trust in life, and calls upon life, that person is brought to life." It is a cruel, wicked, and grievous mockery. It is no good news.

Is anyone who is not born again, i.e. still dead in trespasses and sin, able to repent of his sins, able to put his faith in Jesus, or calls upon Christ?

What is the nature of anyone who is in his native state of sin and death, i.e. not born again yet?

Do you actually believe Christ's own words which He REPEATEDLY declared,
"Except a man be born again, he CANNOT....... HE CANNOT......."

Christ repeatedly stated the ABSOLUTELY NECESSITY, and the PRIORITY of the new birth before the performance of any spiritual activity like believing, repenting and calling upon the name of Christ. Do you believe that life must be prior to the activities of that life?

VERY MANY are too MODERN for the ANCIENT truth from Christ Himself.

Steve Chong
3. Faith is a fruit of the Spirit ... so how a fruit can be turned into the cause of salvation is quite baffling.
4. The words "born again" certainly mean that someone must have been dead in the first place, else it is impossible to be born again because he was never dead to begin with. And hence, can a dead person do anything? (such as repent, put his faith ... in the first place, he hasn't got any faith, let alone put his faith). Surely, it has to take a living person to be able to repent, put his faith ...
"Does anyone agree with that?" ... well, 9 out of 10 (it's probably closer to 10 out of 10) agree with that ..... and that makes me quite lonely *LOL* ..... but, just got to remember that the majority was outside Noah's ark ...

Sing F Lau
4. "The moment anyone repents of his sin, puts his faith in Jesus, and calls upon His name, that person is born again.
=======
This statement is INIMICAL to the gospel of the grace of God.
inimical - adjective, harmful, injurious, detrimental, deleterious, prejudicial, damaging, hurtful, destructive, ruinous, pernicious; antagonistic, contrary, antipathetic, unfavorable, adverse, opposed; hostile, unkind, unsympathetic, unfriendly, ill-disposed, malevolent; unwelcoming, cold, frosty; literary malefic. See note at hostile. antonym friendly, favorable.

The statement declares that a man's new birth is CONDITIONED UPON his activities of repenting his sins, putting his faith in Jesus, calling upon the name of Jesus. It repudiates salvation by the free and sovereign grace of God!
A man who IS dead in trespasses and sins must perform these activities in order to be born again of God. Stupid and deluded men insist this is good news! Right-minded men believe such is insult and mockery of the dead!

Requiring a dead man to perform these duties in order to be born again is no gospel at all.

I agree with Sing. and Steve Some will say in the last day LORD, LORD, and Jesus will say I never knew you. So there is more to salvation like fruit than just calling on the LORD.

Sing F Lau
3. God offers salvation by grace, through faith, in Jesus Christ alone
=======
God offers salvation! To whom does He offer it? Surely to those without salvation! Offering salvation to those without salvation sounds really kind and benevolent and gracious, doesn't it?

Now, what is offered requires the acceptance of it by them who are without salvation. Surely that is common sense enough!

Think for a moment, please. What is the spiritual condition of those to whom God offers salvation? Those without salvation are still in their native state of sin and condemnation, i.e. spiritually dead in trespasses and sins. Such has no desire nor capability to accept the offer, no matter how sincere and fantastic the offer maybe! In fact, he is hostile and in enmity towards the good news of salvation.

What does that imply? Either the modern ivanHELLicals are very stupid themselves, or they foolishly make God appear very stupid like themselves. For only a stupid dumb god will offer salvation to sinners who are dead in trespasses and sins, THAT IS, condemned and dead spiritually, and wholly unable to accept, but instead actively consider such salvation as foolishness.
No American is stupid enough to offer an American big-Mac to a dead American, but modern evangelicals believe in a stupid god who offers salvation to sinners dead in trespasses and sins.

Smart but superstitious Chinese do offer roast swine to their dead ancestors, and the swine ends up in their own bellies!

God DOES NOT offer salvation! Instead, He sovereignly and unilaterally and actively APPLIES / BESTOWS the salvation to individual elect who are spiritually dead in their trespasses and sins.

To say otherwise is to take the name of God in vain. It is to bear false witness of God. It is to impugn His wisdom!

Jesus DID NOT offer life to Lazarus. He sovereignly and unilaterally SUMMONED Lazarus out of death to life! Supposing Jesus had offered life to Lazarus, what good would the offer have done to him? What good? Zilch!

stupid |ˈst(y)oōpid|

lacking intelligence or common sense.
Such is the modern evenHELLicals!!!

Jorge Quierrez Jr.
haha, what a sense smart words! it's a hard saying to the stupid ones,

Sing F Lau
3. God offers salvation by grace, through faith, in Jesus Christ alone.
=======
God DOES NOT offer salvation, and waits for that salvation to be accepted! The all-wise God does not do such a foolish and stupid thing!

He sovereignly and unilaterally bestows salvation, and EFFECTUALLY calls an elect out of his native state of sin and death into the state of righteousness and life. An elect is conceived in sin, born in sin, grew up under the dominion of sin... until God intervened sovereignly!!!)

He BESTOWS salvation... He bestows it freely without man meeting any condition. If there were any conditions that a man must meet to be given salvation, that condition would never be met by man.

God BESTOWS salvation by His grace... without any condition, NOT even through faith. A man without salvation is death in trespasses and sins, and is in enmity against God, and is incapable of exercising faith, much less believing in Christ alone! Such show enmity and hostility, not faith!

God BESTOWS salvation freely, i.e. by grace alone. This describes the manner in which that salvation is bestowed. But the salvation that is bestowed freely is a salvation that is based solely on the faith OF-OF-OF Jesus Christ alone.

The salvation that is freely bestowed by God is the salvation accomplished and secured through the faithfulness of Christ in meeting all the conditions for the redemption of His people. His faithfulness secured the full and perfect righteousness needed by His people, and His faithfulness atoned for all the sins of all His people. Salvation is based solely upon the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Faith in Jesus Christ is an effect, a fruit, a consequence of the salvation freely bestowed by God's free grace. An effect of salvation CANNOT possibly be the means to obtain the same salvation.

Breath is an effect of life. An effect of life can't possibly be the means or instrument to obtain that same life! A dead man cannot breathe in order to become alive! Only stupid people think otherwise.

Robert Cook Sr.
Excellent!!

Sing F Lau
2. Man is a sinner and stands guilty before God in need of salvation.
=======
At best this is very deficient, and therefore misleading and deceiving statement of the STATE/condition of man in his native state of sin. Such a deficient understanding of the true state of man leads these MODERN ivanHELLicals to believe that sinners are able to perform spiritual acts in order to be saved by God!

Christ repeatedly said except a sinner be born again from above, he remains in his NATIVE STATE of spiritual deadness and cannot and will not perform any spiritual activities! Let Christ be true but every modern ivanHELLicals a LIAR.
Man is not just a sinner; he is spiritually dead in trespasses and sins. That is, in his native state, he is not only devoid of any ability to draw nigh unto God, but he is also positively hostile towards, and in enmity against God. He is utterly incapable of receiving the things of the Spirit. He has no ability to discern spiritual things. The gospel is complete foolishness to him.

Modern ivanHELLicals diagnose sinners are spiritually SICK.

Apostolic evangelical diagnose sinners as spiritually DEAD!

Sick sinners are still capable of doing a few feeble things to get themselves saved. That's why modern ivanHELLicals imagine that sick sinners CAN, and must perform a few things to get themselves saved!

Dead sinners are utterly helpless in and of themselves! They are completely dependent upon external power acting upon them if any of them are to be saved - as dead a Lazarus was in the tomb, and completely dependent upon the resurrecting power of Christ the life-giver to raise him from the dead. Sinners are not even passive nor neutral. Sinners' neutrality is a lie from the pit of hell! They are positively and actively hostile and in enmity towards all things of the Spirit of God!!! They don't seek God!

This basic and fundamental fact points to the absolute necessity of salvation by the free and sovereign grace of God! God freely and sovereignly bestows eternal salvation to sinners who are dead in trespasses and sins.

You did not have to accept your physical life GOD gave you what makes u think u have to accept spiritual life when he gives it

1. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died an atoning death, and rose bodily from the grave.

The truth stated here concerning WHO Jesus is, and WHAT He has done, are true enough. The big trouble is that the necessary implications of these truths, especially the latter, are neither noted nor understood! Let me explain.
Jesus lived a sinless life!
- He lived a sinless life of perfect obedience to all the laws of God.
- He lived a sinless life of perfect obedience to all the laws of God as a substitute, in the stead of His people, those whom God has given to Him.
- He did this to save His people. He did this to secure the perfect righteousness which is the absolute necessity for the justification of His people before God.
- Sins, the transgression of God's law, brings condemnation and death.
- Righteousness, the obedience to God's law, secures justification and life.

Rom 3
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

The righteousness of God's provision is through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Justification of condemned dead sinners is on the basis of that righteousness which God Himself has provided through His Son Jesus Christ!
Jesus lived a sinless life on behalf of His people, those whom the Father has given to Him before the foundation of the world, to secure the righteousness for their justification unto life.

Rom 5
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

It is by the perfectly sinless life of Jesus that a sinner is justified and accepted before God. It is not by or because of the actions of the sinner at all. All the actions of a man towards God are the EFFECTS of his justification unto life by the free grace of God.

Justification unto life is through the REDEMPTION that is in Christ Jesus.
Justification unto life is NOT through your faith in Christ Jesus.
Justification unto life through the REDEMPTION that is in Christ Jesus is APPLIED to a sinner under the condemnation of death FREELY by God's grace, i.e. not by anything that sinner does!

Jesus died an atoning death!
- Jesus lived the life that His people, under the condemnation of death, are INCAPABLE of living to attain the justification unto life.
- Jesus died the dead that His people, under the condemnation of death, DESERVE to die.
- The death that Jesus died bore away the curse and condemnation that is due to all the sins of all His people.
- The wages of sin is death. All the sins of all His people were imputed to Him, and He bore and suffered for all the sins of all His people when He endured the hell of being forsaken by God... a hell every sinner deserves!
- Jesus died in the place of His people to bear away completely the full and righteous wrath of God that is due to His people.
- He paid the full and complete price for the redemption of His people. 'It is finished,' He declared.
- There is nothing else for His people to do to be saved. The redemption Jesus Christ has accomplished is APPLIED freely and sovereignly by the Spirit of God to each of Christ's people at their appointed time.
- Once that redemption is applied to each personally, they are made capable of responding to the gospel ministry of declaring to them the truth of their salvation by God's grace through the redemption that is in Jesus Christ.
His ATONING death DID ATONE (simple past tense, a done thing, completed and settled) for all the sins of all His people. The eternal condemnation due to their sins was once, and forever dealt with and SETTLED.
Heb 9:12 "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us."
Having obtained! Having obtained what? ETERNAL REDEMPTION. For who? For us, i.e. everyone, as many as, whom God the Father has given to Jesus Christ.
Let modern ivanHELLicals deal with, and spell out the implications of what they claim that Jesus has done when they mutter that "Jesus lived a sinless life, died an atoning death." Otherwise, it is just cheapskate religious shibboleths that mislead and deceive!

excellent! The only doctrine that gave glory, and honour to our God, is the doctrine that we are saved by grace alone.
