"... every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit." |

"...
It shall not be pruned..."
These
are frightening words. Let them never be said of us. They are expressive of the
Lord's displeasure and chastisement of His people.
Isaiah
5:6 KJV — And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but
there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they
rain no rain upon it.
Plead
that the heavenly Husbandman prunes you often. The absence of pruning is a sign of
divine displeasure and judgment.
Pruning
has a wonderful effect on fruitfulness. I witnessed this profound mystery
today.
A
wifeyma'am (feminine of husbandman?) pruned her mulberry plant extensively some weeks ago. I inspected the plant today and I was awed by what I saw; the whole
plant is laden with new fruit.
Pruning
is necessary unto fruitfulness.
Let
the Lord's sharp secateurs do some needed pruning on each one of us.
John
15:
¶ I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every
branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that
beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Hebrews 12
6 For
whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
¶ 7
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he
whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But
if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards,
and not sons.
Psalm 81:12
So
I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own
counsels.
