Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

Waste not, want not.

#Wastenot_wantnot

I love this powerful picture... it strikes a chord deep within my heart. This world, the prodigal west, and the rich showy east are so obsessed with crass consumerism.

The picture encapsulates my principle and practice of being frugal, consuming only what is necessary, and wasting nothing, being resourceful, and being thankful to the Lord for all the good things He brings.

Joh 6:12 "When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost."

All these years, our gracious Lord clothes my whole family very nicely with left-overs kind people gave to us, and we are happy and contented... we do buy new socks and underwear now and then!!! Once in a while we have new clothes - wifey's sister Helena does this regularly for the children! She is a woman with a golden heart! One or two others do the same. We are thankful to them all.

1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
