¶And when the thousand years are expired... (end of the gospel age)

¶And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the
earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were
opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead
were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to
their works.
13
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up
the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their
works.
14
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake
of fire.
21:1
¶And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first
earth were passed away...

From
the Scripture above, kindly note a few obvious things:
-
Time will end briefly after the gospel millennium has expired; then final
judgment will follow.
-
The Books and Book of Life shall be opened.
-
Those bypassed in the redemption by Christ Jesus shall be judged justly and
righteously accordingly to their works recorded in the BOOKS.
-
Those redeemed by the Lord Jesus Christ shall be judged based solely upon their
names found written in the Lamb's Book of Life, not according to any works they
have done. (Judgment based on works is related to the intermediate state, not
the eternal state, e.g. Mt 25:31ff.)
-
The eternal destiny of those bypassed in God's purpose of redemption in Jesus
Christ is the lake of fire, not hell. The emptied hell was cast into the lake
of fire. Hell is for the intermediate state only.
-
The eternal destiny of those given to Christ by God, whose names were written
in the Lamb's Book of life and redeemed by Christ is a new heaven and a new
earth.
Questions:
Why
must hell delivered up its captives before it was cast into the lake of fire?
How
is it related to the truth that Christ holds the keys of hell and of death?
Revelation
1:18 KJV — I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for
evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
