Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

Active obedience and Passive obedience - BOTH are needed

Active obedience and Passive obedience - BOTH are needed

Leongsie

Most preachers say that we are justified by the blood of Christ. But they never mention that Christ's obedience to the law also justified us. That's why I am inquiring.

Sing
To be PRECISE, most preachers say that we are JUSTIFIED by our faith in Christ, and we are SAVED by the blood of Christ.

BOTH of them are false.

You hardly ever hear them teach that guilty  condemned sinners are justified by the FAITH and BLOOD of Christ, THAT IS, by. BOTH the ACTIVE and PASSIVE OBEDIENCE of Christ.

The condemned is not justified by his faith in Christ; he is justified by BOTH the FAITH and BLOOD of Christ.

Justified by the FAITH of Christ and justified by the BLOOD of Christ speak of distinct and separate aspects in justification.

The faith of Christ speaks of the faithfulness of Christ (i.e. ACTIVE  obedience) in rendering perfect and complete obedience to all the laws of God thus securing the righteousness needed for justification.

The blood of Christ speaks of His laying down His life (PASSIVE obedience) for His people, to bear away the just and righteous wrath of God upon their sins; thus securing the needed forgiveness for His people.

BOTH the ACTIVE and PASSIVE OBEDIENCE are needed in the justification of the condemned.

In justifying the condemned, God imputes to them the righteousness of Christ AND forgives them of all their sins, the wages of which is death, and to which Christ has rendered full payment by His BLOOD, i.e. His PASSIVE obedience in laying down His life in bearing away the just wrath of God for His people.

BOTH the ACTIVE and PASSIVE obedience of Christ are needed for eternal salvation.

May the Lord bless you to know the truths of these passages...

Romans 5 KJT
9 Much more then, being now JUSTIFIED BY HIS BLOOD, we shall be saved from wrath through him...
18 ¶Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so BY THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF ONE,  the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life...
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so BY THE OBEDIENCE ONE, shall many be made righteous.

Yes, the OBEDIENCE OF ONE,

Both the ACTIVE and PASSIVE obedience of Christ.

Philippians 2:8 KJT — And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Jas 2:24 KJV Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

A man .....And not by faith ONLY.....there is justification by faith (believing)in Christ...

Saulo
Jorge, what do you mean by that, "justification by faith in Christ Pastor?

Sing
Jorge, thanks, Brother. Yes, there is indeed.

But saying
A BELIEVER is justified by his faith, and
Saying
A CONDEMNED is justified by his faith
are saying vastly different things.

Experiential justification by faith in Christ, and
Vital justification by the grace of God, and
Legal justification by the faith and blood of Christ

Are completely distinct aspects of justification.

Most know the first but are clueless about the latter two.

Saulo Saulo yan po un faith in Christ Ptr..ito un fruit as Born again...ito un nararanasan nag isang tao na born na...kapag nakapakinig nag gospel nag bebelieve....pag tinwag nag Dios nag bbelieve kaya nasunod...by his obedience to His words dun sya na jujustify continously(practical) and God counted it for righteousness....Gen.15:6...

Sing, yep i agree...

Sing F Lau
Jorge, only a man whom God HAS freely justified by His grace, BASED SOLELY on BOTH the active and passive obedience of Christ, is capable of believing in Christ,

Saulo Saulo
Jorge, true, there are different courts where justification is pronounced.
Those others knew only that justification by the faith in Christ.l
