Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

The widest door is useless to the dead

The meme above conveys a common falsehood.

The widest and tallest, i.e. the most open and accessible, door to eternal salvation is still of no advantage whatsoever to those dead in trespasses and sins.

"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he CANNOT..."

Only someone whom God has freely and sovereignly bestowed eternal life is able to believe; eternal salvation is freely given by God's sovereign grace alone.

Only a man already SAVED by God is capable of becoming or humbling himself as a little child; the unregenerate, proud and haughty can't become as a little child.

To become as little children will secure many temporal blessings of God in this temporal life.

Please don't put the cart before the horse unless your horse walks backwards.

Eternal salvation has always been by the free and sovereign grace alone; it's freely bestowed upon the elect when he is dead in trespasses and sin.

Eph 2 - KJT
1 ¶And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins...
4 ¶But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

2 Timothy 2:7 KJT
Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
