Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

好多事,犯法但不犯罪; 犯罪但不犯法。

In many matters,
law breaking is not sinful;
sinful but not law breaking

🙋🙋

好多事,犯法但不犯罪;犯罪但不犯法。

May need someone to help translate.

🧑🧑
Hǎoduō shì,
fànfǎ dàn bù fànzuì;
fànzuì dàn bù fànfǎ.

好多事 - In many matters...
犯法 - laws are broken
但不 - but it is not
犯罪; sinning;

犯罪 - sinning
但不 - but it is not
犯法. - law breaking.

Is the translation tolerable?

Google does it like this:
Many things, break the law without committing a crime; Crime without breaking the law.

Let's discuss the interesting saying

好多事,

犯法但不犯罪;

犯罪但不犯法。

Give your thoughts.

🙋🙋
For example, in China, if a couple have four children, they are law-breaking (犯法) but they have not sinned (犯罪).

🧑🧑
That's a helpful illustration; it sheds light on the meaning of 犯法但不犯罪.
Then 犯法 is in the context of civil laws, 政府的法律;
and 犯罪 is in the context of God's laws, 上帝的法律.

As good citizens, we want to obey both.
When civil laws contradict God's law, we will choose to obey God's law every time. We will "render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."

In the context of God's laws,

犯法就是犯罪;犯罪就是犯法。

1Jo 3:4 "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."

In many countries, abortion is an example of 犯罪但不犯法。

Good civil governments have laws that are closely aligned with God's moral law.

THANK YOU for these astute words...

好多事,

犯法但不犯罪;

犯罪但不犯法。
