Blessed morning, bro.
Sing
Genesis 50:20
But as for you, ye
thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is
this day, to save much people alive.
What is your
understanding of that verse? The Absoluters use this verse to mean all things
are predestinated by God.
----------
Good to hear from
you, Dear Brother. I trust things are well with you and your family.
Predestination has
to do with the eternal destiny of PEOPLE; God predestinated many out of the
fallen, cursed race of Adam to eternal glory; the LORD PRE-DETERMINED their
eternal destiny, to eternal glory in Jesus Christ
Things and events
have no destiny; they can't be predestined.
The concept is just
irrational and unscriptural.
The thrice holy God
is against sin; He thunders against sins; it's against His holy nature to
foreordain sin; He does not act contrary to His nature.
The evil deeds were
from men's own wickedness - "ye thought evil against me." It's
blasphemous to say the LORD predestinated them; it makes the LORD the author
of sin, no matter how one tries to deny that.
The LORD God of
providence who rules and governs over the affairs of men was pleased to turn
the wickedness of men unto good for His people; He protected and promoted
Joseph, and blessed him as the instrument to save many - temporal salvation -
from the devastating famine.
Many Christians
loathe the truth of predestination. Just imagine that the LORD God did not
predestinate anyone to eternal glory in Jesus Christ, would anyone be saved?
Romans 8 KJT
29 For whom he did
foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son,
that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover, whom he
did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also
justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Ephesians 1 KJT
5 Having
predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself,
according to the good pleasure of his will...
11 In whom also we
have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of
him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.
I hope this helps.
