What was the sin, when did it happen, what angels were involved, and why was it so serious in the sight of God????
2 Pet 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly...
1. Concerning the angels mentioned in verse
4:
- Who are the angels that sinned?
- Are they angels prior to their fall or
after their fall? (I assume that the fall of some angels took place before the
fall of man in the garden of Eden.)
- Does the incident describe the fall of good
angels? Why?
- If they were fallen angels, did the event
involve ALL the fallen angels?
- Are ALL fallen angels cast down to hell,
and delivered into everlasting chains of darkness, and reserved unto judgment?
2. Concerning the angels that sinned:
- In what way did those angels sin? What was
the nature of their sin?
- Is this sin described in any other passage
of the Scriptures?
- Did this sin occur in heaven or on earth?
- From whence were they cast down to hell and
reserved for judgment?
- Is Jude 6 related to this event?
- Is Gen 6:1-8 related to 2Pet 2:4-5?
3. Are the events in verses 4 and 5 related -
i.e. the angels that sinned and the destruction of the old world of Noah?
- What was the initial cause of the destruction of
the old world?
- Were the angels involved in Gen 6:1-8?
4. Jude 6 "And the angels which kept not
their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in
everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day."
- What was the sin of these angels mentioned
here?
- What was the first estate of these angels?
- What was their own habitation?
- How did they leave their first estate and
own habitation?
- Why was their leaving their first estate so
serious?
- When did that happen?
- Is their transgression recorded anywhere
else in the Scriptures?
- Were all the fallen angels involved?
If you can stick to the subject, your
comments are welcome.

I've never thought of them (Noah's time and
people other than family, and angels), but I will say this. The angels that
"sinned" committed the same "sin" as Adam (and Eve).
Wanting to be God. That was the only restriction God gave his first humans, and
perhaps the only one given to the spirits other than the God=head, that have
been revealed in the Word. Is Lucifer (Satan) attempted coup or rebellion, and
his followers (other angels), the sin mentioned in your scripture? I don't know
if that is a bible story, or from scripture, but is the basis of the entire
theology of good and evil, I'd say. Looks like your later scriptures confirm
the existence of that spiritual battle.

Johnny Davis, @ I've never thought of them
(Noah's time and people other than family, and angels)

Then at least give it some careful thought
first before blah blah blah! <LOL>
You haven't even thought of the nature of the
angels' sin, but you are ready to equate it with Adam's sin!
Why don't you give the matter some study
first!
If only you actually attempt to answer my
questions, you would probably be lead to the truth of the matter!
My questions are meant to aid folks to think,
and to lead them to see the teaching of Scriptures!
Johnny
@Sing. I'm interested in the reasons behind
your criticisms of folks that respond to your questions. Your inquiries are
among the best of my FB friends, that pose them TO HAVE thinking people, rather
than those who have been brainwashed into a pattern of belief, respond. Yet,
when a thinking, perhaps provocative answer comes your way, you pass it off as
dribble, or in this case, not attempting to answer the question (when in fact,
I DID answer the question). I do not that scripture says to help mankind, because
we may be helping angels, and that when we help mankind, we are doing it for
Jesus. And you are quite intelligent, I'll give you that - but a mind reader? I
have thought about, and described, the entire meaning of life, as I see it.
That is not a knee-jerk answer, but a response that comes from prayer and
thinking, and study of scriptures over many years. I do not resent in any way
your comments to my comments to your questions, but I am beginning to sin
perhaps, in being suspicious of your intent. I am not seeking a good grade in
school, or any self admiration or pride in knowledge, and your criticism, if
for good intentions (westerners call it "constructive crimicism"),
are for learning of BOTH. I will never STOP learning, and seeking truth. That
is an attitude, evidently not shared by anyone esle, as I see no other
comments, to your well-written and time absorbing narrative and questions. And
to the intent from your part, God has told me that is it a cultural difference,
in wording and understanding. I'll go with that. Please continue your
inquiries. I'll respond as best I can.

The reasons behind my criticisms of folks
that respond to my questions: simple answer: PROVOKE them to think further...
when they give flippant answers.
The Lord gives his people a sound mind... too
many waste it away... yes, washed down the religious water closets!
Time to provoke them to think again! That's
all I'm at... very transparent!
Thank you for your comments...
Johnny
That's a good thing, Sing. One of the modern
translations, in English, used that very term, provoke, in going towards good
works, if I'm not mistaken. I'd vouch for your good heart to anyone. Shuck, you
may be one of those angels, we are to attend to. Maybe Noah, as well.
