Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

How then can man be justified with God? Job 25:4

How then can man be justified with God?
Freely by His grace alone,
based on the righteousness of Christ alone.

"4 How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman? 5 Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight." Job 25. How? How?

So many would answer, quite spontaneously as well as confidently, "A man is justified with God by faith, his act of believing, ya, justification is by faith alone!'

So VERY MANY repeat ad nauseam the heretical platitude - 'a man is justified with God by his faith, EVEN his faith ALONE... as though the faith of such a worm is not 'wormy' enough in God's sight!!!

Romans 3:24 "Being justified FREELY by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."

How does man's fiction of justification by faith alone compare with God's declaration of justification FREELY by His grace?

Very few understand what 'FREELY' means. From one side of the mouth, they say 'FREELY', from the other side of the SAME mouth, they insist 'by faith alone'! What an example of confusion and delusion!

They probably learn the concept of 'free' from shopping brochures - FREE but terms and conditions apply!

God said He justifies the condemned man FREELY - without requiring man to meet any condition. But haughty and deceived and deluded man would not have it that way. It is too humiliating to him... to be justified so FREELY.

Man insists that God justifies the condemned man on the condition of faith, his believing!

Let God be true and every man a liar!
Ancient Job continues to rebuke such liars!

A third category: God's justification depends on man making that justification effective!

The gospel truth: God justifies the UNGODLY freely by His grace.

AMEN to the gospel truth.

Richard@ 'A question is often better than an answer, I think.'
Amen to that.

That is most certainly true to thinking man... what a thinking man needs are serious and weighty questions to provoke him to search the Scriptures further.

Lisa@ "Good to praise God in this and share with others too."

The only news worth sharing is what the Lord has experienced and done and accomplished for us.

That was the policy of Paul's life... "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified."

He rarely talks about himself... unless when his apostleship is questioned and assaulted.

So then, why would Paul choose to 'talk about himself' in defense of his calling to the office of Apostle?

Dallas Eaton II
I am thankful for the great day of worship you have experienced. How was Abraham faithful and obedient in taking Hagar, Sarah's handmaid as a wife to fulfill the plan of God to give him an heir?

Dallas Eaton II
Thanks, Lisa. Richard, you are treading waters over my head, my arms and legs are growing weary...ha ha. Sinless Blood is the source of life if we believe Leviticus 17:11, but I think your statement is in regards to Adam's blood and not that of Christ, which provides for us the covering (atonement).

Lisa, agreed. What loss did Moses suffer, and where does the Bible record his repentance? Yet it was Moses and not David or Abraham upon the mount of transfiguration with Christ?

Dallas Eaton II
It is good to know we are treading the same waters! I have no hope of discovering anything that can or will make me accepted in the Beloved, timely speaking however, having been blessed to have been given hearing ears, I believe I possess an interest in the Hope of Israel and for that I try to work out my own salvation with fear and trembling...but not toward an eternal end.

Dallas Eaton II
Agreed Richard. I rest in Christ alone; but I am responsible for obedient or disobedient actions. Although he does lead His people, He does not perform obedience. Although His righteousness is imputed to us, our works are meant to show forth our living faith, without these our faith is dead, but that does not mean we are dead.

Lisa, I understand. I guess I just don't think of the Spirit as not moving upon the people of God whether they are in knowledge or yet in darkness. I feel His presence on a daily basis, some days more pronounced than others, but always in myself from a recognition of a greater need of His guidance.

"I do NOT actually believe that sinless blood causes life. I do believe the sinless blood provided my justification."

Perhaps, it is better to speak of righteousness for justification unto life, and sinless blood (referring to death of a perfect substitute) for the forgiveness of sins.

Both are distinct and difference... a distinction more helpful and needful to know.

Dad was "born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

Let God be true, and every man a liar.

The Spirit moves providentially, among men, to restrain some of the wickedness of men, and moves redemptively, to regenerate the elect of God.

Sing F Lau
IT IS FINISHED for a VERY SPECIFIC and PARTICULAR people... even as many as - not one more, and not one less - God the Father had predestinated and given to Christ to redeem, and for whom Christ has completed their eternal redemption... and the Spirit of Christ applying that redemption to each of them in His appointed and approved time.

There is NO - NO - NO grace to the others... though God the Creator is benevolent to all His creatures.
