Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

That damning 'deformed' doctrine

That damning 'deformed' doctrine, i.e. the perseverance of the saints!!!

Let the adherents of that fable beware!

That doctrine states to this effect, "All God's children shall persevere in a life of faith and holiness to the end of their earthly life. Anyone who does not do so is not even a child of God."  [This is, of course, the PERVERTED and TWISTED version of the biblical doctrine on the perseverance of the saints!]

This doctrine suits the elitist reformed saints - who see themselves as strong and swift. But it is of no comfort to the weak and feeble saints, the senile and demented, the paralyzed, etc.

Ec 9:11 "I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong..."

My dad passed away at 84 on 10.11.12, after being a Christian for nearly 20 years. His last few years were spent in mild to serious dementia.

My mum-in-law passed away at 94 on 08.02.13, after being a Christian for nearly 30 years. Her last year was with infirmities of body and mind.

The precious mother of a dear sister passed away at 81, one day after my mum-in-law's departure; after being a believer for years. Her last decade was spent in paralysis.

These three DID NOT persevere, neither in a life of faith nor a life of holiness, to the end of their life. According to the deformed fable, they are not God's children, and are damned to hell!

The elitist reformed doctrine of the perseverance of the saints would have excluded these three saints, God's precious blood-bought children, from their eternal inheritance!!!

I wish the reformed folks good luck... and hope they persevere well enough to the end of their lives to be judged as being God's children!!! They shouldn't die old and demented. They should die young and able... when they can be sure and confident of their perseverance in a life of faith and holiness!  <LOOOL>

One of the saddest SBC sermons I heard was by a national evangelist who preached about his mother who "entered the door" and then the door shut behind her. She had made a decision for Christ before it was too late. It was the most depressing sermon I had heard and it was designed to scare people.

Can you imagine having a loving relative suffering from this disease and having heard that sermon?

PERVERTED and TWISTED

What is the essence of the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints?

It is saints remaining and continuing in THE STATE OF GRACE into which God has brought them freely by His free and sovereign grace.

It declares the immutable effect of the effectual call of God upon His elect... once called into the state of grace and salvation in Christ Jesus, he remains immutably in that state of grace and salvation... nothing can undo that immutable transfer.

This has been twisted and replaced with "it is saints will persevere [continue in a course of action] in a life of faith and obedience to the end of their life to be saved. Those who don't were never children of God, to begin with."

The sermon I heard was an Arminian (easy believism) and the salvation was rooted in a decision made before it was too late. This is perverted and twisted but the moderated Calvinist preaches is an even worse perversion. ...as if there are degrees of perversion!!! 😉

Err... but Sing F Lau, if I'm not wrong, granduncle theologian Timothy before he stopped breathing uttered that he knew he would not die but live again. Even though he had severe dementia

I think the ugly head of moderated Calvinism just emerged!!!;)

Sorry Cant'toro, with all due respect to your granduncle theologian Timothy, he is NOT the standard by which truth is determined. I told you before, and I say it again, "sola scriptura" is a vacuous shibboleth to you. Just say whether your granduncle theologian Timothy is the standard of truth. If not, don't appeal to him.

I have been asking ard, is there anywhere I can purchase a braille Bible, for the blind... cos I believe in gospel regeneration!

Sing F Lau
To believe in gospel regeneration is like believing CANtoro CAN'T father a child without a midwife around making some noise in assisting him!!! Is that plain enough?

I believe in the gospel conversion of those ALREADY regenerated immediately (i.e. without the mediation of the gospel preacher) by the Spirit of God.

The triune God I believe in DOES NOT need any of your help to regenerate His own elect. The god you believe in needs your assistance, without which He is impotent!
That's the height of blasphemy.
