Can you accept this proposition as a self-evident truth:
The decretive will of God and the preceptive will of the SAME God, though distinct and separate, are perfectly consistent and harmonious, without any inconsistency or contradiction between them?
IF the decretive will of God and the preceptive will of the SAME God, though distinct and separate, are perfectly consistent and harmonious, without any inconsistency or contradiction between them... THEN why do the new school calvinists:
1.... IGNORE the decretive will, and believe and act contrary to God's decretive will.
- God has decreed eternal redemption for a very specific and particular people, and Christ accomplished that redemption for the same people, and the Holy Spirit applied that eternal redemption to individuals personally of that same people.
- God's preceptive will is consistent with his decretive will... He sends forth preachers to herald the gospel to the recipients of that eternal redemption, that they may know the glorious things that God has done for them by His free and sovereign grace, and to gather them into NT churches.
THEN... THEN... pretend that the gospel call to believe in Jesus Christ applies to all the listeners without distinction?
Why do the new school calvinists ignore the decretive will of God, and go around offering, hawking and pedaling the gospel, the good news of what God has done to save His own people, to all without distinction???

IF the decretive will of God and the preceptive will of the SAME God, though distinct and separate, are perfectly consistent and harmonious, without any inconsistency or contradiction between them... THEN why do the new school calvinists:
2. IGNORE the decretive will, and believe and teach contrary to God's decretive will.
Why do the new school calvinists pretend and teach that faith in Jesus Christ is the duty of every sinner, even those for whom Christ did not die, and God decreed not to save? Why do they insist that even those whom God has bypassed in His decree to save in Jesus Christ has the SAME duty to believe in Jesus Christ?
It is the duty of a man to believe truth. It is never the duty of a man to believe a lie. Only those whom God has saved have the duty to believe that Jesus Christ has saved them. But the new school calvinists believe in a god that requires some men to believe a LIE!
The risen Lord Jesus gave pastors and teachers to His church to preach the truth of what God has done for His people in order to call out those He HAS SAVED, and gather them into churches.

A universalist believes that Christ died for all to make all saveable, and therefore logically and consistently believes these things:
1. That the gospel call applies to all the listeners,
2. That faith is the duty of every sinner,
3. That the gospel "offers" Christ and salvation to the non-elect,
4. That the gospel offer ...of divine mercy is free and universal,
5. That the saving grace in Jesus Christ is common to all, and
6. That God has the same saving love for the non-elect too.
Because of their theology of universal redemption, their method is wholly consistent.
Why do the new school calvinists who boast in election and particular redemption ALSO believe the same method of the universalists?
Doesn't one's theology affect one's practice?

I have read about universalists. They don't interpret scripture very well. On this short passage Paul writes to the Elect; it clarifies many misinterpretations:
"And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins, wherein in times... past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience. Among these also we all had our manner of living in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ (by grace ye are saved), and hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God-not by works, lest any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath beforehand ordained, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:1-10

what is sad is that somebody read your post and thinks OH my god he is a cold hyper calvinist. He belongs to a church that exercise church disciplines to members that share the gospel to random people in the world [ ;) lol ]. This hyper people think nobody should share nor preach the Gospel to people outside their little circle of Mosaic covenant type of church !!!
which sadly all the above are false assumptions of Sing's view of biblical doctrines.

Why God didn't told Moses " take the ten Commandments and tell all creatures on earth that I'm their God and I want to make of every human being a people for myself so I can be their God" ??
instead of : Exodus 19: 5 "Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: 6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel

There's fair market value in Universalist sentiment.
If, If God loves everyone equally, my destiny surely depends upon me.

... fair market eternal destiny by neo-calvinist : they offer free grace salvation BUT only if YOU persevere you will indeed be saved eternally. Their fair argument they bring is that if a person truly has received free grace for eternal salvation the same free grace for salvation must without a doubt will keep the true saint in obedience and faith till the end... which I'll love to exercise all the time . But what if the Lord show up during and act of disobedient from me as bad as the one king David commit with Bathsheba.... and show up before I show a "puritan" repentance for my sin ????
Hart
@Patron, I agree.. One must carry his/her cross daily, but if Tuesday is missed .. Go back to START!
Patron
If you missed Tuesday according to them could be that you never have a real start at all.... I'm sick of watching in neo-calvinist pro MacArthur churches people that because are finally bearing fruit or repenting , now this naive people claim that now they are really eternally saved and get baptized again !!! what a sad joke
Instead of celebrating that their salvation happen 2000 years ago on a cross, they clebrate and now have eternal assurance because they now have "true" repentance on a old sin....
Hart
Yoel, you're correct about MacArthur, but also John Boy the Piper ponitificating on the standards of ESV which says one's 'faith in Christ' is the power unto life eternal. Faith-based religion is popular and profitable for priest-craft ministers. I be gone from these ranks.

If our merciful Lord never gave the assurance to the grief and sorrowful thief on the cross next to the Lord these neo-calvinist will denied his salvation because they will assume (I have no idea in the name of the Lord HOW they are able to tell) that his grief in superficial and is not puritan enough to gain salvation. This is how they sadly teach.
Things New and Old
Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.
Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.
Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.
There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things" 2Ti 2:7.
