Was Jesus harsh in calling the
proselyters the children of hell, and their proselytes the same?

You don't need to go around;
God, by his kind providence, brings them to you.
If you know the truth from the
error on a particular subject, you are qualified and should feel responsible
to tell the truth, or you just miss the opportunity of saving someone from the
error of his way.. leaving the brother/sister to continue in his error.
