Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

The faith OF Christ in salvation is perverted...

"That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro,
and carried about with every wind of doctrine,
by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness,
whereby they lie in wait to deceive."
Ephesians 4:14

One of the GREATEST and MOST POPULAR LIE Propagated by Many Sincere Preachers

The faith OF Christ in salvation is perverted and twisted into man's faith IN Christ for salvation!

Here it is, stated this way.

They ask this question: "How is this righteousness [of God's provision] communicated to man?"

Then they answer their own question thus:
- "... it is through our faith IN - IN - IN Jesus Christ."
- "... we receive righteousness through our faith IN - IN - IN  Jesus Christ."

Then they quote this Scriptures to validate their answer:
"Even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference."

I suggest that these sorts of answers are plain FOOLISH. Why?

They promote the HERETICAL idea that those without righteousness already communicated to them by God's free grace is capable of believing! Those without righteousness applied/communicated to them personally at their effectual calling out of their native state are still in the state of condemnation and death, i.e. dead in trespasses and sins... THEREFORE such are without any ability to believe. It is as simple as that.

In addition to that obvious NONSENSE, the passage quoted has been perverted in translation to permit it to teach a LIE. It should read:

"Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no  difference."  [KJV]

"Even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference." [XPerV]

If you are not sharp or alert enough, you won't even notice the VAST difference between the two translations of the same passage.

The PRIOR application (communication) of the righteousness is necessary for the ability to believe. Righteousness is applied to a man by God's free grace when he was still dead in trespasses and sins. Righteousness applied personally is LOGICALLY prior to the regeneration of life; no righteousness by God's grace, no regeneration by the Spirit.

Righteousness is secured by Christ, and is IMPUTED LEGALLY to all elect at the cross.

Righteousness is APPLIED PERSONALLY to each elect at his effectual calling out of his native state of sin and death to that of grace and salvation. This application or communication of righteousness is obviously by God free and sovereign grace! What was LEGAL now become PERSONAL.

Righteousness - which is already IMPUTED LEGALLY and APPLIED PERSONALLY - is EXPERIENCED PRACTICALLY through faith IN Jesus Christ at conversion, and throughout life on earth. That is what happened in Gen 15:1-6. Abraham experienced the blessedness of his justified state, righteousness was communicated to him when God called him while in the sate of ungodliness in Ur of the Chaldean.

Please note that the Scriptures quoted above HS PERVERTED one of the central and fundamental truth of the gospel. It is quoted from a perverted translation...

Romans 3:21 "But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ  unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:  [KJV]

The good ole KJT reads, "which is by faith OF Christ."
All perverted translations read: "which is by faith IN Christ."

The gospel is God Himself providing righteousness for guilty condemned sinners by the faithfulness of Jesus Christ in fulfilling the redemption mission.

The righteousness of God is not communicated/applied to you by:
- your work of obedience to the law of God...
- your works of righteousness...
- nor your work of faith in Christ...

If the righteousness of God is by your faith in Jesus Christ, then salvation is by your works, and not God's free grace.

Christ Himself declared that faith in Him is a work God requires of His people.
John 6 28 ¶ Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Modern translations have obliterated this vital distinction. The "faith  OF Christ" has all been replaced with man's "faith IN Christ"!

Christ's redemptive work is attacked and usurped.
Divine grace is denied.
And man's works exalted.

See if the translation you are using has perverted gospel truth!
Take a careful look, won't you?
The devil attacks Christ and His gospel in a most subtle way, and so many preachers are oblivious of having been deceived!
