2 Timothy 3
16 ¶All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
If a man diligently uses this divine
resource, he will be thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Proverbs 19:24 A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom,
and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
No amount of wholesome food laid before a man
will do him any good unless he has a thirst and hunger for the food. Salivating
and drooling will only dehydrate him.
Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is
unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat
belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have
their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
The degree of profiting from the word of
righteousness is related to having one's mind and heart exercised by the same.
Mat 13:23 But he that received seed into the
good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also
beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some
thirty.
