Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

What do I think of modern secular Israel?

Some Zionist Christians asked w hat do I think of modern secular?

Not much, but I told them this:

I don't know about your view on Israel. My view is that modern secular Israel is REMOTELY related to the theocratic Israel of the Bible; it's an invention of man. What had been divinely established at the foot of Mt Sinai was ALSO divinely preserved until its abolition for good in AD 70; the biblical theocratic Israel lasted for as long as only the LORD God had intended it; when the time was fulfilled, it was forever done away with.

That said, the modern secular Jewish nation has every right to exist in peace and to defend itself, as much as any other.

Let the aggressors and warmongers on the earth perish - "for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword." Amen.

Matthew 26:52 KJT "Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

Amen. Old Testament Israel and modern secular Israel are two completely separate and different things.

Brother Sing. I agree. I kindly do not go along with the occasional idea of an end-times Jewish restoration. Jesus said everything we need to know about the question in Matthew 23:39, "...Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord." Jesus was/is the "he that cometh in the name of the Lord." I have not heard modern Israeli people praising or believing in Jesus. Till I see that evidence, I respectfully stand with Jesus. Amen.

Amen to Brother Joe and Brother Sing. I consider modern Israel an ally of our country, but in my opinion there is no prophesy being fulfilled by the present nation of Israel, etc.

Another thought: I trust we are a part of spiritual Israel, being a Spiritual Jew. That's what is important and if we are a Spiritual Jew we are so by grace alone! ""For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God" (Rom. 2: 28-29).

Wayne, BOTH the Jews and the Muslims fighting them have outward circumcision made by hands.
