Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

God does it all; yes, it's all by His grace alone!

The Triune God does it all... our eternal salvation is entirely by grace alone.

God does it all; yes, it's all by His grace alone!

- God the Father purposed eternal salvation for the elect before time...

- God the Son accomplished that eternal salvation for the same at the cross...

- God the Spirit applies that same eternal salvation, at God's appointed and approved time, to each elect in their native state of sin and death, effectually calling them out of their native state of sin and death to that of grace and salvation, completely fitting them for eternal glory.

- On the resurrection day, all the redeemed who have died shall be resurrected and be glorified and those still living shall be transformed and be glorified; together they shall be brought home into eternal glory in heaven. "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14:3.

God ordained the ministry of the word for the instruction and temporal salvation of those He has freely bestowed eternal salvation in Jesus Christ.

- Some of them are outwardly called by the ministry of the word; those who are called are converted to varying degrees.

- Others are incapable of being outwardly called by the ministry of the word.

God does it all. All glory and praise to Him alone.

Amen and amen.
