#The_gospel_is_good_news
#It_does_not_offer_salvation
The
gospel is the good news of what the Triune God HAS DONE to save for Himself
a people, and they are called to believe that truth of their salvation:
-
God had chosen a people and purposed eternal salvation for them by a Redeemer;
-
Christ the Redeemer secured that eternal salvation through His redemptive for
the same people;
-
the Holy Spirit applies, at God's appointed time, that same eternal salvation to each one
(chosen of God, and redeemed by Christ) personally when they were yet in their
native state of sin and death.
The
gospel is not even an offer; so, it can't possibly be more than an offer in any
sense nor is it an open invitation. Supposing that it is, please tell, what is
offered, and to who offered; and who are invited, and unto what are they
invited? PRAY TELL, who can accept such an offer or open invitation?
The
gospel ministry has been ordained by Christ for the calling out of such whom
the Spirit of God has applied the salvation accomplished by Him for His people.
There is no offer of anything.
The
call to repentance towards God and faith in the Saviour is intended for those
whom the Holy Spirit has already freely applied the salvation secured by
Christ, calling them to believe "the truth of their salvation." Eph
1:13.
To
repent and believe in Jesus Christ is the duty and work God requires of His
children, those whom He has saved; such are required to believe the truth of
their salvation.
"These
do and be saved" is the essence of both Arminianism and Calvinism;
"these do because God has freely saved you" is the essence of the
gospel of God/Christ/grace. Amen.
Please
tell us.
