Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

Those who oppose themselves

Those who oppose themselves;
They kick at the truth.

They refuse to acknowledge the truth.

These are God's children who are duty-bound to own the truth of their salvation but refuse to acknowledge it; they rather believe fables, like the Arminians, as well as the new school Calvinists do.

2 Timothy 2:25 KJT
In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth.

2 Timothy 4 KJT
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Rejecting the truth deprives you of the little that you have.

Heed this warning:
Matthew 13:12 KJT — For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

Knowing the truth is a heaven-sent privilege and blessing; it is not a right; God does not owe anyone the truth... "if God peradventure will give them repentance..." Be careful.
