Gen 6:4
There were giants in
the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto
the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty
men which were of old, men of renown.

Verse 4 adds that these Nephilim "became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. " That is, they had a reputation for bold actions that, of course, were evil. Perhaps "renown" might better be translated "notoriety." They were famous for their bold and active wickedness. The emphasis of the word Nephilim is not on physical stature but on lawless violence.
Commentary on Genesis 6:4 by J G Vos in his
commentary on Genesis.
I was in the study room of a dear brother and
noticed the commentary on his study table and took a peek at that passage. So
many want to understand Nephilim in its literal physical sense - they are
giants - which I believe is completely out of context, i.e. what is stated in
the next verse. Nephilim were giants of wickedness.
Very many also believe that the Nephilim were
the offspring of the godly MALE Sethites (sons of God) and non-godly FEMALE
Cainites (daughters of men).
Is that even possible? For long times - both
before, and after the flood - ungodly men and ungodly women were marrying
WITHOUT producing such perverse and monstrous offspring!
Think about it. Yes, thiiiiiiiiiiiiik about
it.
"Sons of God" are beings who are
offspring of God, i.e created directly by God. Check Luke 3:38.
"Daughters of men" are beings who
are offspring of men, Gen 6:1a "And it came to pass, when men began to
multiply on the face of the earth." This describes the procreational
activity of the WHOLE human race. Gen 6:1b "and daughters were born unto
them" - focuses the attention on the female offspring of the whole human
race.
The pronoun "them" refers to men generally, men of the whole human race. Some are silly enough to say that the pronoun "them" refers to the Cainites, that women were born to them; and then the "godly" Sethites (sons of God) married such Cainite women.

Jde 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate,
but left their own habitation,
he hath reserved in everlasting chains
under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
"The angels which kept not their first estate" refer to fallen angels.
The own habitation of angels, whether fallen or elect, is in the spirit realm. Some of the fallen angels left their spirit realm, their own and native habitation, and INTRUDE into the human realm, but taking upon themselves human nature, contrary to God's will, with the chief intention to FRUSTRATE the redemptive purpose of God.

Gen 6:8 But Noah
found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
But for this But, Satan would have triumphed; the promised Seed of the woman would not have come, and therefore, no redemption.
