2Ti 2:15 Study to shew
thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing
the word of truth.

Can you restate correctly what you disagree
with?
I wrote this:
- God purposed redemption...
- Christ accomplished the same redemption...
- The Spirit applies that redemption to each
elect personally, when still in his native state of sin and death, which made
each completely fit for eternal glory. Nothing more is needed.
That is eternal salvation by God's free grace
- dealing with the BEING of God's children.
The ministry of the word is ordained to
inform, instruct, edify God's children, and make them wise unto the salvation
that the Triune God has purposed, accomplished, and applied to them. Conversion to
the truth of their salvation by God's free grace SAVES them from falsehood,
errors, and superstition, and exhorts them to godly living. Titus 2:12-13
That's temporal salvation - having to do with
the WELL BEING of God's children.,
DJ commented:
Don't disagree with that but my question is
what is the importance of faith? Why does the Bible speak about faith in such a
passionate way if it has no importance in eternal things?
And this is a response to DJ inquiries above:
Faith is a saving grace worked in a child of
God, an elect whom God the Spirit has regenerated. That saving grace enables a
child of God to believe the truth of the gospel concerning his salvation by
God's free grace.
Believing is the means God has ordained for a
child of God to EXPERIENCE the blessings of the eternal salvation already
bestowed freely and graciously.
Believing evidences the eternal salvation
ALREADY freely bestowed when no believing was possible.
No, believing has NO PLACE and plays no
instrumental role whatsoever in the eternal salvation. Eternal salvation by
God's free and sovereign grace is the CAUSE. Believing is one of the effects of
that sovereign cause.
That's is salvation by God's grace.

Yoel, a smart-aleck devout disciple of John
MacArthur restated what I said in the two comments above like this:
Sing F Lau I just read your two comments
above. And I'm just trying to understand a little more on the roots of
misunderstanding the gospel. If I summary your theology: "Sing believes that we are saved from the eternal wrath of God and eternal lake of fire by
election only without the need of showing any evidence of conversion or
regeneration by the elect. And Sing also believes we (the regenerated elect) are
commanded to be saved from a temporal hell by our own efforts, obedience,
repentance, works of righteousness, etc with the aid of the holy spirit. The
second one, salvation from hell, is not guaranteed since it depends pretty much on
our efforts. The first one (salvation from the lake of fire) is 100% guaranteed by
the trinity without any effort from an elect.

I responded:
Yoel, do you know what's your problem?
You are so fixed in your ways, that you are
incapable of even restating what I said! You have eyes to see only what you
want to see.
I said,
- God purposed redemption...
- Christ accomplished the same redemption...
- The Spirit applies that redemption to each
elect personally, when still in their native state of sin and death, which made
each completely fit for eternal glory. Nothing more is needed.
That is eternal salvation by God's free grace
- dealing with the BEING of God's children.
You restated what I said:
"Sing believe that we are saved from the
eternal wrath of God and eternal lake of fire by election only... "
The election only saves no one. That's your
fiction! Period.
The election is a fraction of what is embraced in
"God purposed redemption."
I have always told my children,
"if you can't represent correctly what
you disagree with, you have not earned to right to disagree. You should just
hold your breath, listen carefully with the brain switched on, and learn a
bit."
But I won't tell you the same because you are
Big MacA's lad!
