How impressive; green, and lush! |
Man's aprons of fig leaves
God's coats of skins
Genesis 3 KJV
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that
they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves
aprons...
21 ¶Unto Adam ALSO* and to his wife did the LORD God make
coats of skins, and clothed them.
O the folly of man in trusting in his own aprons of fig
leaves - impressive but pathetic, worse than the 3-patches bikinis, as naked as
ever.
But O, the glorious and tender mercies of God in providing
them coats of skins; innocent lives were taken, blood was shed to clothe them
with coats of skins - foreshadowing the redemptive work by the Seed of the the
woman, even the Lamb of God.
ALSO* - in addition to the glorious announcement and promise
in verse 15,
"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and
between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise
his heel."
It is grace upon grace.
The leaves two days later, in the shade only. |
