Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

Divine_Sovereignty and Human_Responsibility In the Context of Redemption

Divine sovereignty relates to God's eternal decree, and activities of purposing, accomplishing, applying, and consummating the ETERNAL SALVATION to the elect, thus perfectly fitting them for eternal glory. This is entirely MONERGISTIC.

Human responsibility relates SPECIFICALLY to God's children ONLY - those already effectually called out of their native state of sin and death to that of righteousness and eternal life in Jesus Christ - i.e. their duty to obey their Father's will for them for their TEMPORAL SALVATION. This is SYNERGISTIC.

The grace of God working in them OBLIGATES them to certain definite responsibilities.

God's children - those freely bestowed with eternal salvation - are held responsible to believe the truths of their redemption in Christ by God's free grace and to live soberly, godly and righteously.

The 'reformed' people are quite confused and deluded on this basic matter.

God's moral creatures are under the obligations of the covenant of creation.

God's redeemed people are under the obligations of the covenant of redemption.

A biblical distinction is the essence of sound theology.

Titus 2

11 ¶ For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 ¶ These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
