Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

I attack IDEAS. I don't attack people.

 "I attack IDEAS. I don't attack people.
And some very good people have some very bad ideas.
And if you can't separate the two,
you gotta get another job."

So, don't need to take it personally when our sacred cows are attacked and slaughtered; you are too nice to be attacked personally; just be thankful instead that they are interested in the sacred bulls and not you. I'm thankful to have some of mine slaughtered, and have been shown and taught not a few gospel truths along the way; thank you, Lord.

James 5
19 ¶Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

2Peter 2
1 ¶But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Teachers of damnable heresies are mostly likeable and attractive, eloquent and persuasive; they excel in feigning "good words and fair speeches." They don't come with horns and pitchforks.
