Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

FEED... FEED... FEED My lambs, My sheep

The sheep are already there; Christ has found the sheep.
Go and feed them. You don't turn goats into sheep!

FEED... FEED... FEED My lambs, My sheep;

NOT make... make... make sheep for Me!

"He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
"He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
"And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep."

The sheep are already there by My work, I send you to feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed them.

But SO MANY of you don't even understand this simple command... you think I command you to go and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake sheep through your preaching!

Oh, them deceived and deluded gospel regenerationists! Why aren't they content with the noble work of feeding Christ's sheep?

Why must they insist their role in the divine work of regeneration, that their preaching is the prerequisite catalyst for the Holy Spirit to execute His work of quickening the dead in trespasses and sins?

Why must they usurp God's divine work of giving eternal life? See Less

What was the ministry of John the Baptist? What was his job description?

Luke 1
76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;

77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,

79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

80 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.

A. With respect to the Lord:

1. To prepare His ways... announcing his coming, and getting His people ready for Him.

- 'And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!'

B. With respect to the Lord's people:

1. TO GIVE knowledge of salvation unto His people...

- His ministry has respect to the Lord's people only. It is irrelevant to all others.

- To GIVE knowledge of salvation, i.e. they may know the truth of their salvation by God's free grace in Christ Jesus.

- To GIVE knowledge of salvation to those whom God has already bestowed salvation by His free grace. The knowledge of salvation is relevant only to such. They need to know it.

- To GIVE knowledge of salvation... OBVIOUSLY to those ALREADY spiritually quickened, not to those still in their state of sin and death. Knowledge of salvation is foolishness to the perishing, but to them that are saved, the knowledge of salvation is good news of God's power of saving them.

- No sane man gives knowledge of anything to the dead! BUT many preachers insist that their ministry as giving knowledge of salvation to the dead... so that believing they may be regenerated by the Spirit.

2. TO give light to them that sit in darkness...

- The Lord's people sit in darkness... not the same as the dead and rotting in darkness! Sitting in darkness: in the darkness of ignorance, bondage, superstition, etc. Ignorant of the glorious work of salvation for them by the free grace of God.

- Only those who God has quickened is able to receive the light to be delivered to them.

- To the rest, the light of the knowledge of salvation is just foolishness and great offense.

- Light is for the living... people whom Christ has saved and quickened. Such need light, even the light of the knowledge of their salvation.

- I have never seen a sane man trying to give light to the dead! But there are many preachers who insist that their ministry is to give light to the dead in trespasses and sin... IN ORDER that such be quickened through the agency of the light they give out!

3. To guide our feet into the way of peace

- The way of peace is to be reconciled to the truth of the matter... humbly acknowledging and receiving the truth of our salvation by the free and sovereign grace of God in Jesus Christ.

- To be reconciled to the truth of our salvation by God's free and sovereign grace through the finished work of Jesus Christ is peace, comfort, hope, assurance for His people.

- Only the feet of the living can be guided into the way of peace. The living ARE ALREADY there... preachers are sent to guide such into the way of peace!

- 'The way of peace' is already established by the free grace of God in His people. The preaching of the truth of their salvation guide them into that peace.

- So MANY preachers see themselves as going to the dead so that their preaching may become the instrument to bring the dead to life! What delusion and self-conceit!

There will always be gospel regenerationists deceiving the Lord's people, and being deceived themselves!
