Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

Is it ALONE , or is it ALONE + some illusions?

Is your eternal salvation by God's free grace ALONE , or is it
God's free grace ALONE + some illusions?
(as though ALONE does not exclude everything else)

Is the bird ALONE, or is it not?
Make up your mind please.

Is your 'grace alone' really what it says, or is it just a popular religious shibboleth? Let's consider some of the ALONE statements of God's activities in our eternal salvation.

God ALONE purposed eternal redemption for all the elect in eternity. This is pretty obvious. None of the beneficiaries of eternal salvation was there to assist or aid God.

Christ ALONE accomplished the eternal redemption for all the elect on the cross. This is pretty obvious too. None of the beneficiaries of eternal salvation assist or aid Christ in His work of securing eternal redemption for them.

The Spirit ALONE applies that eternal redemption to each individual elect personally at effectual call. This is plain obvious. None of the beneficiaries of eternal salvation assisted or aided the Holy Spirit in bringing them out of their state of spiritual death! In fact they were in rebellion and enmity against God in the unregenerated state!

All these are the free and sovereign acts of God ALONE... i.e. without man playing any part in anyway whatsoever. When eternal redemption is applied to an elect personally, he is then perfectly and completely fitted for eternal glory. Nothing further is needed for his entrance unto eternal glory.

That's grace alone... PLUS nothing... in the eternal salvation of God's elect.

God ALONE will consummate that eternal redemption for all His children at the return of Christ to usher in the state of eternal bliss, and with without any man's help either!!!

And ALONE means ALONE, not ALONE plus some efforts or contributions of man. Anything in addition to ALONE would nullify its ALONEness! So, no double talk please!

This is the simple truth of salvation by God's free grace alone.

The gospel ministry has a very important purpose... but only for the SPECIFIC purpose it was divinely ordained, and not what deluded men imagine it.

The ministry of the gospel is ordained for the well-being of God's children as they journey through this world unto their eternal glory. The gospel ministry does not add anything to their BEING as God's children immutably destined, and fitted for eternal glory by free grace alone. The gospel ministry has been ordained for the spiritual WELL-BEING of God's redeemed elect while journeying through this world.

This is plain obvious. A life must be conceived and born first before food has any relevance. No among of food help to bring a life into BEING. Food is for the nourishment of the life that has been brought into being, for his WELL-BEING! Even so,  spiritual food is for the nourishment of God's children, for their WELL-BEING. Spiritual food is not a means whereby spiritual life is brought into being! It is elementary!

But many would denounce me a hypercalvinist for believing the above.

Arthur Pink once said in the Foreword of his book 'The Sovereignty of God' these words:
--- "Denunciation is the last resort of a defeated opponent." To dismiss this book with the contemptuous epithet - "Hyper-Calvinism"! will not be worthy of notice." ---
