Sir, I
attended an evening service in an RB
church. The preacher repeated a few times that it's our faith in Christ that
saves us.
What do you think?

Unthinking people will just keep repeating
shibboleths.
They are afflicted by a serious disease called "soundbytitis
"Come, let us reason together..." a
bit.
IF it is faith in Christ that saves, THEN it
necessarily follows that:
- salvation by grace is just a cheapskate
Reformed platitude;
- salvation is by work because believing is
work, John 6:28-29; 1John 3:23
- those not yet saved, still dead in
trespasses and sins, are capable of faith in order to be saved...
Faith is a spiritual fruit worked from WITHIN
a child of God (i.e. an elect whom God has freely saved by His grace and given
the Spirit of adoption to dwell within him) by the indwelling Spirit.
Faith manifests the salvation already freely
bestowed to an elect when he was dead in trespasses and sins; he was saved by
grace while dead in trespasses and sins. Eph 2:5,8.
Breath manifests the life already given to a
dead man; but unthinking people insist that a dead man breathes to get life.
How irrational.
But be careful.
Faith DOES SAVE. But faith saves differently
from the way Christ saves.
Christ saves His people with eternal
salvation from the condemnation of the lake of fire and makes them fit for
eternal glory.
Faith, believing in Christ, saves the SAVED...
- from falsehood, lies, superstition,
ungodliness, unrighteousness, etc. . i.e. temporal salvation, deliverance in
this life.
- unto a saving knowledge of the truth of
their salvation by grace, and godliness.
Titus 2
11 ¶For the grace of God that bringeth
salvation hath appeared to all men,
12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and
worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present
world.
