Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

CONSISTENCY, THOU ART A JEWEL!

Here is one most precious gem:

'The notion that the Bible is addressed to everybody has wrought confusion within and without the church. The effort to apply the teaching of the Sermon on the Mount to the unregenerate nations of the world is one example of this… Not only does God address His words of truth to those who are able to receive them, He actually conceals their meaning from those who are not… The saving power of the Word is reserved for those for whom it is intended. ~ A. W. Tozer. (thru Adam Wells)

When this truth is consistently applied, it will spare so many preachers from so many outright follies, and obvious errors!

Oh, for consistency Bro Sing!

Ed Elliott needs to understand this fact. The denial of original sin; the belief that God does speak to everyone goes against the grain of all scripture beginning in the garden.

CONSISTENCY, THOU ART A JEWEL!

Yes, too precious to be cast before swine!
Thanks, Josiah!

BUY the TRUTH and never ever ever SELL it!!!

- God purposed eternal salvation for His elect people.
- Christ secured eternal redemption for exactly the same people at the cross.
- The Holy Spirit applies the eternal redemption to each elect personally at God's appointed and approved time.

No eternal salvation is ever OFFERED by God.

He actively, sovereignly, and freely APPLIES it, at His own approved and appointed time, to each of His elect when they are still in their native state of sin and death.

The Lord sends for His servants to proclaim the good news of what the Triune God has done by His free and sovereign grace, calling them to believe the gospel, that they may know the truth of their eternal salvation by free and sovereign grace, and experience the blessedness of that salvation.

The gospel ministry is very important... what what many imagined, i.e. as an instrument of conveying eternal salvation. The gospel ministry is appointed for the benefit of God's children, those ALREADY in possession of eternal salvation by God's free grace. The gospel ministry is very important for the temporal salvation, the spiritual well being, of God's children.

Peddlers and hawkers, IMPOSTORS and DECEIVERS, go around, with great pomposity and self-importance, pretending to offer eternal salvation on God's behalf and in Christ's name, to those that are still dead in their trespasses and sins...

What madness, and height of deception and delusion!

The great harm done by the gospel regenerationists is they take up the space meant by God for us to be leading the regenerate to repent and believe and build the kingdom of God on earth rather than the small remnant of gracers are having to defend the gospel against the gospel regenerationists. The gospel regenerationists are the enemies of God and his constant wrath is being held back from their eventual perishing. They are presently perishing but don't know it. They assume they are prosperous but in fact, they are spiritually naked. The revelation of their perishing is awful for them!
