No need to exaggerate! |

Found this in my
mailbox, from a venerable 'uncle' in Zeeland:
From Auckland to
Sydney to Kuala Lumpur to Dacca to Marseilles to Manchester to Stockholm to New
York, thousands of bodies prostrate on floors and even roads on Fridays to
worship Allah. Such is the power and unity of the people's of the Islamic faith.
As in the early
church of Christ who congregates in each locality as one body, the Muslims meet
where they live, rich or poor, prince or pauper, United as one Ummah, the
united body of Islam!
Today, the Body of
Christ are disunited, segregated by denominations, man-made doctrines, meeting
in diverse cliques as clubs do.
Did not the Lord
prays for unity of His followers? "I pray also for those who will believe
in me through their message, that all of them may be one", John17:20. And
again, "May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that
you sent me". John 17:23.
The Body of Christ
today is like the church of Laodicea, lukewarm, but worst, quenched of the
Holy Spirit! Weak to stand in the face of the coming Islamic Caliphate!

I replied:
Uncle Teoh, the
arm-chair theologian,
The Christians
around the world are as united as the Muslims in the sense that they also
congregate each Sunday in churches, and under mango trees of all kinds! And
they are also as divided as the Muslims are over doctrines and practices. There
is no need to exaggerate what is not there! I don't need to state that dominant
sect is slaughtering other sects, just like the RCC used to do. That's more
like stating the fact!
Christ did pray for
the unity of His church.
There is ONLY one
thing that will bring His people together - unity in the truth of the gospel of
Christ, and nothing else.
Truth draws the
like-minded saints together, but truth DIVIDES too.
Ecumenical
woolliness does draw woolly folks together.
Matthew 10
34 Think not that I
am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I
am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against
her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36 And a man’s
foes shall be they of his own household. 37 He that loveth father or mother
more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than
me is not worthy of me.
