Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things"
2Ti 2:7.

"...Making melody in your heart to the Lord" - all of you!

Churches are turned into religious entertainment hubs. People are ENTERTAINED to death, even in many churches now!!! (My humble advice - AVOID such places!)

How they forfeit the sublime delight and pleasure of old fashion hymning! I just told the church the other day, those who love and enjoy hymning will love heaven a whole lot better! Singing those hymns that celebrate the gospel truths enriches the souls and educate the minds and edifies the hearts like faithful preaching does. The Lord blesses me with some saints who sing!

Here's one example of a hymn that enriches the souls and educate the minds and edifies the hearts: Grace tis a Charming Sound... (http://www.hymntime.com/tch/htm/g/r/a/gracetis.htm)

Grace, ’tis a charming sound,
Harmonious to mine ear;
Heaven with the echo shall resound,
And all the earth shall hear.

Grace first contrived the way
To save rebellious man;
And all the steps that grace display
Which drew the wondrous plan.

Grace first inscribed my name
In God’s eternal book;
’Twas grace that gave me to the Lamb,
Who all my sorrows took.

Grace taught my wandering feet
To tread the heavenly road,
And new supplies each hour I meet,
While pressing on to God.

Grace taught my soul to pray
And made mine eyes o’erflow;
’Twas grace which kept me to this day,
And will not let me go.

Grace all the works shall crown,
Through everlasting days;
It lays in Heaven the topmost stone,
And well deserves the praise.

O let Thy grace inspire
My soul with strength divine
My all my powers to Thee aspire,
And all my days be Thine.

"Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to HEAR, than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they consider not that they DO EVIL!!!

Be more ready to hear what? The preaching of God's word.

2Ti 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

The necessary implication: the congregation must be instant in season and out of season to hear the preachig of the word.

That the sacrifice of FOOLS are made to God in the house of God is a harsh reality, and no one seems to care... that evils can be done in so-called worship services does not even register!!!
