Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things" 2Ti 2:7.

The Lord Jehovah Jireh!



Photo: These are our three older children... Lau Jo-Siah - 刘主率 Lau Jo-Hannah - 刘主恩 Lau Jo-Hanan - 刘主捍 The Lord has very graciously provided for our children. Jo-Hanan will join his older siblings at the National University of Singapore soon. NUS has accepted him to do his undergraduate in Industrial Design. Jo-Hannah will begin her third year, majoring in Linguistic. Jo-Siah has one more year in Law. I marvel at the Lord's abundant goodness in providing them the educational opportunities at a top class university that is not prohibitively unaffordable.. even though still quite a big burden on a minister's stipend!!! The Lord will provide! Our youngest Lau Jo-Ezer - 刘主敦 is taking his SPM this November. May our Lord bless each one of them, and knit their hearts and minds together!

Jo-Hannah will begin her third year, majoring in Linguistic.

I marvel at the Lord's abundant goodness in providing them the educational opportunities at a top class university that is not prohibitively unaffordable to a wage earner... thanks to the student grant from the Singapore MoE... even though the expenses would still quite a big burden on a minister's stipend!!! The Lord will provide!

What their names mean...
刘主率 - the Lord's leadership
刘主恩 - the Lord's grace
刘主捍 - the Lord's defence
刘主敦 - the Lord's faithfulness
刘 the first character indicates their family name,
主, the second character show their generation name, and
率, the third character is their personal name.
