Things New and Old

Ancient truths revealed in the Scriptures are often forgotten, disbelieved or distorted, and therefore lost in the passage of time. Such ancient truths when rediscovered and relearned are 'new' additions to the treasury of ancient truths.

Christ showed many new things to the disciples, things prophesied by the prophets of old but hijacked and perverted by the elders and their traditions, but which Christ reclaimed and returned to His people.

Many things taught by the Apostles of Christ have been perverted or substituted over the centuries. Such fundamental doctrines like salvation by grace and justification have been hijacked and perverted and repudiated by sincere Christians. These doctrines need to be reclaimed and restored to God's people.

There are things both new and old here. "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things" 2Ti 2:7.

Pure Superstition but Liked by so many Christians

And the tragedy is this: so many Christians 'liked' it. 

Others think the photo promotes superstition!

Perhaps those new translations are more likely money generating scams that anything else!

The devil wants people to believe the fiction and fable that he is so easily defeated by some superstitious acts! And people so love to believe so! The serpent is indeed more SUBTLE ... deceiving even those supposedly in God's own Army! What a mighty triumph on the part of the devil!

Sing, you have said what I have wanted to articulate for so long...superstitious acts the word of God is so precious and to reduce it to a supertitous act is pure folly. People will carry an old sun worn Bible on their car dash or in the rear window deck as a symbol and yet mock the RCC for having a crucifix or a saints statue attached to the dash. Why not have a wobble head Jesus on the car? pure idolatry!

The bible is more than an amulet to ward off evil spirits or to outsmart the devil. It is certainly not to be used as a chain threat if ignored!
