Achanitis - a serious disease of individualism, a mindset that says ‘what I do is my own business, and I couldn’t care less how it may affect others, even those associated with me.’
Joshua 7:1
But the children of Israel committed a
trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi,
the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the
anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.
Achan's individual sin in the context of
corporate solidarity (as a member of Israel) EQUALS "children of Israel
committed a trespass."

he hath transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he hath wrought
folly in Israel.
Achan's individual sin of transgressing the
covenant of the LORD in the context of corporate solidarity (as the head of his
house) INVOLVED him and all his household!
Achan's individual sin of transgressing the

house) IMPLICATED "all that he hath shall be burnt with fire."
How many members of churches today care about
these solemn matters of their corporate solidarity with their churches, and
their families?
How many members of churches today have the
covenant consciousness of their corporate solidarity with the church of their
membership????????
Beware, my dear brethren, beware lest the
wrath of the LORD, the covenant-keeping God, is kindled against your church,
and your FAMILY!!! The fact that there is no longer stoning under the new
covenant does not diminish the truth of the matter.
May our Lord guard our steps. Amen.
